I have found this course to be very insightful as to some of the new technologies that exist in the way of communication. Is it possible that such 'advancements' in technology are one of the variables that account for this? Does this influx of 'advancements' misguide us so as to be so distant.so incoherent and desensitized that we disallow ourselves to take the time for reflection so that we can communicate effectively? Sometimes, I think so. In the United States, more than 1 in every 2 marriages end in divorce. In turn, camaraderie and trust are very difficult to establish and build upon. Two international companies that wish to partner are more compelled to conduct an online video conference as opposed to meeting person, likely because of time and financial expense. Soon after, this becomes the norm for communicating with the majority. With the age of social media, online video conferencing, etc., many of us are so.almost seduced by the medium of online chatting with someone as opposed to picking up the phone and calling them.

Email and personal profiles I think very clearly illustrate this. It seems to me that with the invention of new technologies and looking closely at the pros and cons of a new communication technology, I think oftentimes more information (or at least the clarity, undertones, and reasoning) is lost than the benefits which are to be gained. But I remember a time when the tone was different.when the cashier looked at you (and was not multitasking) while he or she was taking your order. I do think that this is reasonably in part due to the setting it's fast-food. You'll see that their tone and body language and movement are very automated. You will notice that when they say that standard greeting 'Welcome to., can I take your order', they're not really 'welcoming' you. The next time you go to a fast-food restaurant, I encourage you to take mental note of the person taking and giving you your order at the counter or window. In light of what is now a vast, seemingly endless expanse of mediums in communication, the plethora of messages and their intended recipient(s), and the constancy of conveyance, I sometimes think that things have become so convoluted that it is now more about quantity and less about clarity and/or quality. This self-communication can then equip you to more effectively convey your message to your recipients. This reflection helps you communicate with yourself.to tell yourself what is and what isn't. I think in some instances it is a time for reflection.perhaps a moment that you and a loved-one, a friend, or co-workers or clients shared.a ball game, the horrors of war, pushing the company to hit that new goal for the coming quarter. Communication.I think for some us, to communicate means to first observe what is around us, to reflect on things seen and the absence of things seen.
